Playing with Painted Papers: Project 5 - Gift Wrap
Share
There are so many costs in our lives these days - so many things we consider "disposable" - You buy the cute gift wrap, you meticulously wrap your perfectly chosen gift - and then it's RIPPED OPEN and thrown away. Not to mention the trip to the store to get it! Call me cheap but that's like a dagger to the heart.
This could be considered a frugal craft or an upcycle but most importantly.... it's cute as hell!
This vibrant gift wrap is made from painted newspaper of all things.
Extremely low cost and fun to make!
The great thing about newspapers is they are very large and therefore a great surface to paint on and use for gift wrap.
It reminds me of the times my dad would wrap our gifts in the comic section or with our left over drawings - I remember these times specifically and I can tell you I do not remember a single instance of store bought wrapping.... sorry mom.
Obviously this would be a super fun craft to do with kiddos!
Keep following along to see if I hit 50 projects using Painted Papers!
