Playing with Painted Papers: Project 7 - Journal Embellishments

Take a boring kraft paper journal and add some color! The options are endless!

I had a stack of these small blank journals laying around the studio taking up space when I started the Playing with Painted Papers journey. I've also accumulated a good stash of beautiful scraps so I challenged myself to use both.

For the journal on the left, I decided to weave two colors of painted papers together. I then glued it to a backing of card stock for an extra pop of color, stamped a small title on a scrap of copy paper and Bob's your uncle!

The journal on the right was inspired by quilting blocks which I think give it some folksy charm. I also hand-stamped a small title at the bottom.

These are a great scrap buster craft that don't take a lot of time and make great gifts!

Keep following the Playing with Painted Papers journey to see if I can make it to 50 unique projects!
